In today’s Gospel with Jesus’s parables we see how God constantly seeks to welcome us back into his love and grace. Here at the Ministry and with StoutCatholic, the students are excited to welcome back all the returning students, and welcome into the fold those that are new to our community. Our community is amazing in this way, yet sometimes it can feel a tad overwhelming. Trust me, Freshman, I have been there too, and did not see myself holding this position when I first wandered into the doors for a free meal on a Thursday evening.
Many of you are doing a lot of things for the first time in these few weeks, and at the Ministry we hope to accommodate all of your spiritual needs and desires. But do not worry, you don’t have to feel obligated to make it to every Thursday meal or have to be doing all the activities to be a part of our community. Participate in what you feel comfortable with is the best advice I can give. Try the other clubs and organizations you wish to investigate. Get involved and have fun with your time here at UW-Stout. My name is Blake Gerrits, StoutCatholic’s President, and I am excited to see all these wonderful students coming forward and finding us. This year is going to be an amazing year with the programming we have planned, and the magnanimous student population we’ve been so blessed to receive. I thank you for finding us, and may we walk hand in hand along our spiritual journeys together.
